Blend Your Material to Spec
Common in dredging or applications that require removal of lots of water, classifying tanks are capable of accepting a variable out-of-spec feed and will produce a steady in-spec output. That makes them unique as most aggregate processing machinery prefers a steady input for equally steady output.
Material enters the tank via a sloped feedbox and then is classified by specific gravity. That’s a scientific term toward a fairly simple process: large or coarse particles settle first, mediums towards the middle of the tank and fines at the end. Any silts naturally flow over the sides of the tank.
Using a system of high-pressure valves that are usually computer-controlled, the material is blended back together according to your desired spec. Classifying tanks can produce as many as two spec products and one excess product.
